Christmas Market Dates
21st November – 22nd December 2016
Welcome to the
Trier Christmas Market
Amid the medieval surroundings of the Hauptmarkt
square and in front of the mighty cathedral,
95 festively decorated wooden huts
create an enchanting Christmas atmosphere
in Germany’s oldest town, renowned for its
UNESCO status and its 2000 year old Roman Porta Nigra gate.
At the Trier Christmas Market you will find a great variety of Christmas articles, ranging from Christmas decorations, wooden toys, candles, hand-blown or engraved glassware up to gift articles and ceramics.
Culinary delicacies accompanied by exquisite local wines and, of course, traditional German dishes and desserts such as bratwurst, potato pancakes, gingerbread and pastry await you as well.
Hot tea or delicious glühwein will
help keep out the cold as you listen to Christmas carols, played by brass bands and trumpeters.
Sweet treats and hot chestnuts all bring big smiles to children faces, whilst they watch the puppet theatre in the Trier Christmas Market pavilion.
Shopping in Trier during the winter has always been a very special experience. Along with the Trier Christmas Market, the city offers an extensive selection of specialty shops, large department stores, and boutiques with experienced personnel to assist you.
